“National Center for Biomodels” (hereinafter referred to as the NCB) provides business and membership services for academic research, academic information exchanges and other activities, and collects your personal information through this website. In accordance with the requirements of Article VIII Paragraph 1 of “Personal Information Protection Act”, the spirit of the EU's "General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR" and NCB’s “Privacy Protection and Website Security Policy”, when collecting your personal information, NCB notifies you of the following items. Please read the points carefully.

2. Time period, territory, recipients, and methods of which personal information is used:
(1) The methods of use of personal information and territory in which it is used:
For the execution of various services announced by NCB for the purpose of collection, including for the necessary contacting and notifying of business services.
Used by government agencies and competent authorities of the target business when requested in accordance with their legal duties.
Except in cases of international academic exchanges, business or events, your personal information will only be used by NCB in Taiwan, within the necessary scope of the collection purpose, until the purpose of collection expires, or when the retention period expires.
(2) Recipients of personal information:
The personal information you provide is only used by NCB for the purpose of collection, and third parties who collaborate with NCB. NCB will not sell, exchange, or lease your personal information to any other organization, persons, private corporations or government agencies, except in the following situations:
to cooperate with legal investigations initiated by judicial authorities, such as protecting, investigating and stopping fraud, and unauthorized or illegal activities;
to cooperate with competent authorities in the fulfillment of their duties to investigate or for usage;
when your behavior at NCB violates the NCB terms of service or may damage the rights of NCB or cause damage to anyone, it is necessary for NCB to analyze and disclose your personal information for identification and legal action.

(3) Storage of personal information:
The information collected by NCB may be retained as required to meet terms of membership and the above collection purposes, time period (the preservation period of the business), and during the interval it is required by relevant regulations or laws. When the above time period of use, NCB has considered the following items:
based on the NCB and website service optimization analysis, and the information backup period;
the specific retention period required by relevant laws and regulations;
the period needed for the protection of NCB’s reputation or of its legitimate rights, including but not limited to lawsuits or dispute mediation.
If the data is no longer needed, NCB will erase your information in a safe manner. If you need further information about the use of your personal information, please contact NCB.
3. Individual rights:
(1) When contacting NCB, queries must be made in writing or via e-mail, specifying the type of rights concerned, contents, and contact information. If the above-mentioned conditions are not met, the request procedure will have not been successfully completed and NCB may notify the person involved to provide additional information. The request procedure will only be completed once the required information is provided, and the processing time will then be calculated. This is to prevent infringing the rights of the person involved due to insufficient information.

(3) You may submit an application to NCB to exercise the following individual rights:
the right to make an inquiry of and to review personal information: You may inquire and review your personal information collected, processed and retained by NCB.
the right to request a copy of the personal information: You may request to make duplications of your personal information collected, processed and retained by NCB. This right may charge a fee to cover necessary costs from those who make an inquiry or request to review or obtain copies of the personal information.
the right to supplement or correct the personal information: You may request to supplement or correct your personal information retained by NCB.
the right to demand the cessation of the collection, processing or use of personal information: You may request NCB to discontinue collecting, thereby halting or restricting the processing of your personal information, but only when you are no longer using NCB’s services. When you request objections or restrict the processing and use of personal information (including but not limited to e-newsletters or marketing promotion, etc.), NCB will continue to store your personal information according to the retention period, but will not conduct subsequent processing and use.
the right to erase the personal information: You may request NCB to erase your personal information when the specific purpose of personal information collection no longer exists, or when the retention period expires.
the right to withdraw consent: You may withdraw consent to NCB processing of your personal information at any time.
the right to the restriction of processing: You may request NCB to restrict the processing of personal information based on improper processing circumstances.
the right to object to processing: In terms of compliance with GDPR, you may object to NCB’s processing of your personal information.
the right to data portability: According to the personal information that you provide based on your consent or contractual agreement and which processed by an automated means, you may request NCB to provide your personal information in a format that can be received and processed by general information systems. For new service providers, you may copy, transfer, and import your personal information for your new service provider quickly, safely and completely.
4. The effects of refusing to provide personal information:
If you do not provide your personal information or the provided information is incomplete, NCB will not be able to offer its services and you will be unable to use the services requested.
5. The NCB reserves the right to revise this consent agreement. When NCB modifies the content of this consent agreement, NCB will notify you through the contact information you provided. If you have any suggestions, please contact NCB’s service staff by phone or e-mail within three days. If you do not raise any suggestions within this time frame, it will be regarded as agreeing to the modifications made to the consent agreement by NCB.
